Neal Schwartz’s Priorities for Assembly District 31

“Simply put: I am here to represent all voters of Nevada Assembly District 31, not any special interest group or political parties. I want to hear from you and when elected I am committed to hosting regular town halls to hear what you want from your state government.”

Making Nevada More Affordable

Too many families are being squeezed by rising costs while wages struggle to keep up. Neal is focused on practical affordability solutions, including housing affordability, energy cost stability, and lowering healthcare costs so working families can thrive.

As a realtor who has helped hundreds of families live the American dream of homeownership, Neal understands that Nevada needs to increase our housing inventory, especially in affordable housing, crack down on out of state corporate buyers seeking to take advantage of Nevada families by monopolizing rental markets, and encourage urban infill to make full use of already urbanized areas of our community.

Neal believes that Nevada should put a price cap on insulin and other widely used drugs used to treat chronic conditions and that the explosive growth in data centers should not spike the utility bills of Nevada residents.

Public Safety: Fully Funding First Responders

Everyone deserves to feel safe in their neighborhood. Neal Schwartz believes public safety starts with adequate staffing and resources for police officers, firefighters, and emergency medical responders.

Neal will fight to ensure local governments have the tools they need to hire, retain, and properly equip first responders, reduce response times, and keep both residents and first responders safe on the job. Public safety should never be stretched thin.

Fixing Traffic and Improving Mobility

Traffic congestion is one of the biggest daily frustrations for families in Sparks and the North Valleys. Neal understands that traffic isn’t just an inconvenience, it affects public safety, quality of life, and economic growth.

Neal will advocate for smart transportation investments that reduce congestion on major corridors, improve traffic flow and road safety, and better coordinate state and local infrastructure planning. We need solutions that keep our community moving without endless gridlock.

Workforce Development and Addressing Provider Shortages.

Neal Schwartz understands that Nevada has critical shortages of professionals in key areas like construction, nursing, medical specialties and mental health clinicians and wants to expand our workforce development pipelines to address the issue. Neal believes that Nevada needs to invest in apprenticeships and career and technical education, expanding our University (and community college) system’s ability to train more professionals and make it easier for professionals to relocate and work in Nevada.

Raising Revenue the Smart Way: A Nevada Lottery

Nevada is missing out on millions of dollars every year because we don’t have a state lottery. Neal supports bringing a Nevada Lottery, limited to within casinos only, with proceeds dedicated to education and essential public services. This will bring more customers to casinos (instead of California businesses) and increase revenue without raising taxes.

A lottery would keep money in Nevada instead of flowing to neighboring states, raise revenue without raising taxes on working families, and support schools and critical state priorities

Protecting Mail Balloting in the Nevada Constitution

Nevadans deserve secure, accessible elections. Mail balloting has proven to be safe, reliable, and popular with voters across the political spectrum.

Neal supports protecting mail-in voting by placing it in the Nevada Constitution, ensuring every eligible voter can participate and that election rules are not manipulated for political gain.
